Specification discussion, proposals and review happen on the public list. To subscribe, send an empty message to list-subscribe@mtproto.eu and reply to the confirmation. To post, write to list@mtproto.eu.
Traffic is low — typically a few dozen messages a month, with peaks during a review period. The archive is distributed with the list software rather than published here; ask on the list if you need an older thread.

Proposing a change
Write to the list with the problem first and the proposed wording second. A proposal that changes normative text should say which section it replaces, what a conforming implementation would have to do differently, and whether any existing record would stop validating.
Normative changes get a review period of at least sixty days before publication. Editorial corrections do not — send those to the editors directly and they will appear in the next patch release.
Security reports
Report issues affecting the format or the reference tooling to security@mtproto.eu. We aim to acknowledge within five working days. If a fix requires a specification change, the sixty-day review period does not apply and the change is published as soon as it is agreed.
Please note: this address is for the format and the tools published here. Problems with a specific laboratory's records or systems should go to that laboratory — the working group has no visibility into anyone's deployment.
Privacy
This website serves static files. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party resources, and runs no analytics — there is nothing embedded in these pages that talks to anyone but this server. Nothing on the site collects personal data, and there is no form to submit.
Web server access logging is disabled. Mail sent to the addresses above is retained for as long as the correspondence is useful and is not used for anything else; list posts are, by their nature, visible to every subscriber. To have your address removed from the list, unsubscribe or write to contact@mtproto.eu.
Imprint
The MTPROTO working group is an informal collaboration of individuals and organisations working on measurement data interchange. It is not incorporated, holds no assets, and speaks for no one but its participants. It is not an accreditation body, a standards organisation, or an agency of any government, and nothing published here should be read as carrying any authority beyond the consensus of the people who wrote it.
